CL Discusses 2NE1, Challenges Of U.S Debut In San Francisco Radio Station 99.7 NOW Interview

2NE1's CL is garnering much attention in the United States, and recently held her first on-air radio interview.

On Sept. 11, CL sat down with San Francisco radio station 99.7 NOW to discuss her upcoming debut into the American music market. The interview, with the radio station's DJ Christian Saad, was CL's first radio interview in the United States.

During the interview, CL discussed her upcoming album, the movie "Sister Act II," her relationship with Jeremy Scott, Diplo, and Scooter Braun and much more.

99.7 NOW introduced CL to the American audience, first beginning with her career as a member of 2NE1.

Saad asked CL about what made her decide to pursue a career in the US, even though the group hasn't broken up.

"2NE1, we finished our tour last year," said CL. "We always have the longest break and I know our fans hate us but, you know, before our last album we had a two year gap. We just want to come out when it's ready, and right now I'm doing this because Scooter [Braun] called me up and I thought this was a great challenge for myself. I miss the girls and my fans."

CL spoke about 2NE1's Minzy going back to focus on school and Dara focusing on acting during the break.

The rapper also discussed how she met American music manager Scooter Braun at a concert in Seoul where Psy performed, and then in 2014 Braun called her up to make an album. CL also said that she and Diplo had always known each other through friends.

CL was in San Francisco to perform at the Mad Decent Block Party.
