iKON's Bobby Achieves Dream Of Bringing Family Over From The States

One K-pop idol has achieved his dream of bringing his family over from the U.S to Korea.

On Sept. 18, Korean media outlets reported that Bobby, a member of YG Entertainment's boy band iKON, recently bought a house for his parents in Seoul. His family was living the United States, and Bobby previously publicized his dream of bringing his family to Korea and building them a home.

The news came the same week that iKON released it's debut warm-up single, "My Type."

Previously, Bobby had expressed his desire to bring his parents over to Korea on multiple broadcasts prior to iKON's first release.

Bobby lived in Korea since auditioning at a young age, after which he was selected as a trainee under YG Entertainment. He lived with iKON's members following their formal formation on the Mnet competition show, "Mix & Match."

During Bobby's appearances on "Mix & Match" and the rap competition show, "Show Me The Money 3," the rapper discussed his desire.

"I want to work harder and bring my parents over as soon as possible," he said during an episode of "Mix & Match."

During "Show Me The Money 3," Bobby rapped about his desire as a foreigner to realize his dream and meet his family.

iKON will formally debut with the first half of their first album "Welcome Back" on Oct. 1, followed by the entirety being released on Nov. 2. iKON will hold a debut concert in Seoul on Oct. 3.
