K-Pop News Weekly Top 3: Taeyeon And Baekhyun Split, Rain Opens New Agency, K-Pop Stars Attend NYFW

Another week of eye-catching headlines from the K-pop world.

Girls' Generation's Taeyeon and EXO's Baekhyun End Relationship

The week began with the news in Korean media that the relationship between EXO's Baekhyun and Girls' Generation's Taeyeon. The pair reportedly broke up because of their hectic schedules, but will remain friendly as they are both in idol groups under SM Entertainment. Outlets also reported that the pair had previously broken up during their relationship, which made headlines last year.

Taeyeon is the third member of Girls' Generation whose relationship ended this year.

Rain Sets Up New Company After Contract Expires

Following the expiration of his two-year contract with Cube Entertainment, solo artist-actor Rain launched his own agency. The company, CREATE, will be a one-man agency that Rain himself will manage with the assistance of his longtime manager.

CREATE is the second entertainment agency that Rain has set up. He previously founded J. Tune Entertainment and subsidiary J.Tune Camp.

New York Fashion Week Draws In The K-Pop Stars

Many Korean idols were in New York City and attended fashion shows at New York Fashion Week. Dara of 2NE1 was highlighted for her street fashion by Refinery 29 and Vogue after attending the Givenchy Spring/Summer 2016 show, while SM Entertainment was represented by Girls' Generation's Sooyoung and SHINee's Minho at the Coach show and anniversary dinner. Former Girls' Generation member Jessica Jung attended the Diane Von Furstenberg show, while former f(x) member Sulli attended the Tory Buruch show.

In addition, former S.E.S member Bada and model Irene Kim were also seen at New York Fashion Week.
