WINNER And iKON Continue Rivalry With Back To Back Promotional Cycles

The two newest idol groups from YG Entertainment will promote back to back this year.

WINNER and iKON will both make comebacks back to back before the end of this year. YG Entertainment had previously announced that iKON would make their debut this October, while WINNER's comeback date has yet to be announced.

The two groups have gone head to head since their trainee days.

WINNER debuted with the album "2014 S/S" last year, while iKON released the warm-up single "My Type" on Sept. 15 and will release the first half of their album, "Welcome Back" on Oct. 1, with the second half being released in November.

YG Entertainment's CEO, Yang Hyun Suk, shared a picture on Instagram on Sept. 20 that featured WINNER's logo and the question "Miss them?"

YG Entertainment's official website, YG-Life, also reported that WINNER will make a comeback by the end of the year.

Prior to formation, members of WINNER and iKON competed on survival shows to make the final cut of YG Entertainment's next boy group. Following the selection of WINNER's members through "WIN: Who Is Next?" trainees who were not picked and new trainees appeared on a second survival show, "Mix & Match" to form the line-up of iKON.

The two groups have promoted together recently, including appearing in a live stream via the Naver V App, and also appeared together in the project film, "Dimension."
