Z.Tao Criticized For 'Fashionably Late' Entrance To Versace Runway Show In London

Being fashionably late to a fashion show garnered one former K-pop star dirty looks from fashion aficionados on Saturday.

Z.TAO, formerly known as Tao of the K-pop boy band EXO, came under scrutiny after arriving late to Versus Versace's Spring/Summer 2016 fashion show in London on Saturday. The singer arrived to the venue late, and walked down the runway while the show was underway to access his front row seat.

Photos and video from the event show other audience members frowning at Tao's actions, which then came under fire from Chinese media outlets.

Chinese media described Tao's actions as "ungentlemanly behavior which interrupted the show," reports the K-Pop Herald.

Photos of the event showed several high profile audience members, including Vogue Editor Suzy Menkes, frowning after Tao's late arrival.

Tao, whose real name is Huang Zitao, is one of Versus Versace's brand endorsement models in China, and was escorted to his seat by Versace staff.

The singer's representative reportedly explained that Tao had left ample time to get to the fashion show's venue, but due to London traffic Tao arrived after the show had begun.

Following the show, Tao shared a picture on Instagram showing himself with Anthony Vaccarello, the creative director of Versus Versace and Donatella Versace's protege.

Tao debuted in South Korea as a member of SM Entertainment's idol group EXO, and left EXO earlier this year. Tao is in the middle of a legal battle with SM Entertainment, but pursuing a career in China under the name Z.TAO.
