After not making the cut to debut with upcoming girl group TWICE, one JYP Entertainment trainee has decided to pursue her singing career elsewhere.

Minyoung, who competed on JYP Entertainment's survival show Sixteen, has officially left the agency.

Posting a message on her official Instagram account on Wednesday, Sept. 23, Minyoung expressed her gratitude to the fans who supported her while she was competing on the reality program.

"I left the company. I want to bear in another place. I haven’t given up," wrote Minyoung, as reported by Soompi.

Minyoung further vented her frustration at not being able to fully showcase her talent. "I wanted to interact with my fans while being at the company, but I couldn’t and it was frustrating," she explained.

"I wanted to tell you that I was really thankful for all the gifts you have sent me," she concluded the message to her fans. "They gave me so much energy. I’m truly thankful.”

JYP Entertainment's upcoming female group TWICE, will consist of nine members - Momo, Sana, Nayeon, Jungyeon, Jihyo, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, Mina, and Tzuyu. All were chosen to debut as members of the group on July 7 as Sixteen wrapped up. TWICE will not be an all Korean female group, the group has five members from South Korea, three from Japan, and one from Taiwan.

A representative from JYP Entertainment revealed that TWICE will debut by the end of 2015. The group currently has a web series titled TwiceTV, which fans are able to watch them prepare for their debut.
