Damon Albarn Confirms New Gorillaz Album; Release Expected Next Year

Gorillaz are back in the scene since 2011, as they are expected to release a new album anytime next year.

The man behind the band, Damon Albarn, confirmed recently that he would be going back in the studio to follow up "The Fall," which he said was created on an iPad, while he was on tour, NME reported.

"I'm starting recording in September for a new Gorillaz record," the Blur vocalist said in an interview with the Australian show, ABC 7.30. "I've just been really, really busy so I haven't had a chance."

Furthermore, he also explained how he misses being in the studio and the feeling of working on a record.

"I'd love to just get back in to that routine of being at home and coming to the studio five days a week," he explained, as he prepares for the new Gorillaz album.

Furthermore, while Albarn is working on his new disc, he recently talked about Adele's upcoming record, in which he threw some criticism at.

In a The Guardian report, the Gorillaz singer revealed that he had a preview of the new Adele album and called it too bland and very "middle of the road."

"I heard the work she did with my friend Brian, aka Danger Mouse," Albarn said. "It's very middle of the road."

In the same interview, he also explained how he worked with the "Skyfall" singer on a few tracks, which didn't make the cut.

"Adele asked me to work with her and I took the time out for her," he explained. "And I'm not a producer, so ... I don't know what is happening really. Will she use any of the stuff? I don't think so. Let's wait and see. The thing is, she's very insecure. And she doesn't need to be, she's still so young."
