G-Dragon Stands Out As Only K-Pop Celebrity Included On Business Of Fashion List Of World's Fashion Leaders

G-Dragon is not just a fashionista, but a bona fide global fashion leader, announced Business of Fashion.

The influential fashion business authority included the Big Bang leader in its annual Top 500 list of global fashion leaders. He is the only K-Pop idol to make it into the list, notes Allkpop.

"The Korean superstar is a huge digital influencer across Asia," says Business of Fashion, "and has a rampantly expanding global fanbase."

"A K-Pop star and one of Asia's most popular and paparazzi-hounded celebrities, G-Dragon's inimitable, chameleon-like style has won him the admiration of Karl Lagerfeld and Jeremy Scott. The rapper has been a front row favorite for brands like Lanvin and Saint Laurent for a few years now, but it was his appearance at Chanel's casino tables at the label's haute couture Autumn/Winter 2015 show that secured his status at the top of the fashion pyramid," adds Business of Fashion.

G-Dragon shares the Top 500 spotlight with other fashion heavyweights: From designers like Alber Elbaz of Lanvin, business executives like Hermes chief executive Axel Dumas, to media legends like Anna Wintour.

G-Dragon was chosen based on hundreds of nominations received from current members of the Top 500, data analysis and months of research, according to Business of Fashion.

In explaining the magnitude of G-Dragon's inclusion in the list, one fan noted that he was one of a handful of Koreans and less than 60 international entertainers to make the list.

"This is really amazing. There are only 5 Koreans on the list and he's the only celebrity out of them. Out of 500, he was also one of 57 from the entertainment industry, so don't blindly hate..." said one of the top-ranked commenters, according to Netizenbuzz.

In recent months, G-Dragon has also shown his prowess as a global fashion icon through his collaboration line with Giuseppe Zanotti, and attending various high-profile events such as one with Vogue international editor Suzy Menkes and the flagship opening of Acne Studios.

Congratulations to G-Dragon!
