Despite Rumors, M.I.B Is Not Disbanding

As M.I.B member Kangnam continues to rise in popularity, concerns over M.I.B's stance as a whole have come into question.

To add to the fans worry, on September 24, Korean media outlets began reporting on M.I.B leaning towards disbandment. The reports read that the four members of the hip-hop group started to drift apart while focusing on individual activities. Though the group had not actually broken up, the outlets assumed that they unofficially were over.

M.I.B's agency Jungle Entertainment disagreed. On September 25, the company spoke to Korean outlet Sports DongA to clarify the rumors. "We are confused to see reports like this since we have never mentioned anything about disbandment," Jungle Entertainment began. "They are not disbanding and have nothing against promoting as a group."

Recently member Korean-Japanese member Kangnam (Yasuo Namekawa) released his solo album and title track "Chocolate." Jungle Entertainment further explained that the other M.I.B members are also pursuing their own individual activities as well. "They are simply not promoting together," Jungle Entertainment concluded, "They will return as M.I.B soon."

M.I.B's last group comeback occurred in March 2014 with their second album The Maginot Line. Since then, member Kangnam has become incredibly active in multiple variety programs. Meanwhile, a few of M.I.B's rap line attempted auditioning for Show Me the Money 4 and Rapper 5Zic also released a mixtape. Since it has been so long, fans are eagerly anticipating the return of M.I.B has a whole.
