Jennifer Garner was reported to have rebounded on ex-boyfriend Michael Vartan at the height of the news that she and Ben Affleck were divorcing. Recent reports though have surfaced that the actress was only apparently focused on saving her marriage with the "Gone Girl" actor.

According to a report on Hollywood Life, one of Hollywood's golden couples wanted a take two on their relationship for the sake of their kids.

"Jen is interested in saving her marriage for her kids," an insider revealed. "She is taking it day-by-day and Ben has really been a changed man of late so it might just work out now that the dust has cleared."

Affleck and Garner continue to be spotted together in public even though they've announced their separation back in June. They even continue to wear their wedding rings. In a report on Entertainment Tonight, the two were seen having dinner with family after spending the day before with their children. Onlookers even revealed that they got along and Affleck was a gentleman. No PDA was observed by people who have seen them.

Shortly after the announcement that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner were getting a divorce, the actress was immediately linked to former boyfriend Michael Vartan, whom she dated before marrying Affleck.

"Michael's been a total rock for Jen throughout this whole nightmare," a source told the National Enquirer as quoted by Celeb Dirty Laundry. "They both know exactly how the other feels."

But just weeks after the rumors came out about Garner and Vartan, a source told People that the actress was not diving into the dating pool anytime soon.

"She can't even imagine dating," the insider stated. "It will probably be a long time before she is able to move on romantically." 

The former "Alias co-stars got together after the actress divorced Scott Foley.

"We're much better off as friends," Michael Vartan told USA Today in 2005 about his breakup with Jennifer Garner, who later married Ben Affleck.
