Lee Hi Ranks Number 1 on U.S. Billboard K-Pop Chart with 'Rose'

Singer Lee Hi has ranked number 1 on the U.S. Billboard K-Pop Charts.

Today, Lee Hi's song, "Rose," which was released on March 28, was seen at the top of the U.S. Billboard K-Pop chart.

This song was written by YG Entertainment producer Teddy and Song Baek Kyung. This song features a R&B house genre and expresses the pros and cons of love metaphorically with a rose.

Yesterday, "Rose" was also seen hitting number 1 on the Gaon chart as well.

Last year, Busker Busker's "Cherry Blossom Ending" had ranked number 1 on this chart during the spring. This year, Lee Hi has taken over the number 1 spot and has pushed Busker Busker down to number 2.

This song was first released on March 28 and is part of her first official album, First Love. Right after the release of this song, it ranked number 1 on various charts including Bugs, Mnet, Naver and more.

Lee Hi first appeared as a contestant on the audition program "K-Pop Star" and won runner -up. She then signed with YG Entertainment and debuted last fall with her first song, "1,2,3,4." She also was featured in Epik High's new album for their song, "It's Cold" and gained much attention as well.

Lee Hi is also known as the 'monster rookie' as she has been topping charts with every song she puts out. YG is usually known to release new albums from artists after a long time, but with Lee Hi, CEO Yang Hyun Suk has worked with her to release this new album in just 6 months after her debut.

She has also had her first comeback stage performance for her song, "Rose" as well.
