Jimmy Fallon Injury News: Host Flashes Swollen Finger, Talks About Physical Therapy And Surgery

Jimmy Fallon had no qualms attending the Emmys without a cast on his injured finger. The "Tonight Show" host revealed the broken finger for the first time minus its bandage.

As reported by Inside Edition, the "Tonight Show" host flashed his injured finger for the first time on the red carpet.

"I took the bandage off today because I figured 'why not? Maybe I have had it on too long?'" he told Deborah Norville.

The injured finger still looked discolored and bent. It doesn't appear to have much movement as well.

But no matter how serious the aftermath of the ring avulsion was, the "Tonight Show" host said he was on the way to recovery.

"It is getting better," he continued. "I am in physical therapy right now. It is all about getting better now."

It was only last week as well when the "Tonight Show" host told Billboard that it's still a long road for the Jimmy Fallon injury news. Aside from the regular physical therapy, he also will need to undergo another surgery for the finger's full recovery.

"It's a bummer, but you can't get depressed," he told the magazine.

During a guesting on the "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Sept. 11, Fallon also said that the finger might get well for good by 2016.

"It's gonna take a while to heal," he revealed. "I'm thinking probably by the new year."

It was three months ago when the host figured in the freak accident at his home after tripping on their carpet and getting his ring finger almost ripped off. His doctor managed to save his finger although the odds of a severe injury as a "ring avulsion" has proven otherwise in the past.

After a two week break following the finger injury and surgery, the host came back on his show to share details of the incident.

"Apparently, the odds aren't great and usually they cut your finger off, but this guy did microsurgery for over six hours and had to take a vein out my foot," he said about the Jimmy Fallon injury news as quoted by The Wrap in July. "This is the craziest story -- I was knocked out and didn't know any of this."
