It's a sad period for Girls' Generation member Seohyun and her fans as she belatedly revealed the death of her cuddly dog named Dubu.

Fans have gotten to know Dubu (Korean for 'tofu') through the cute photos and playful videos Seohyun uploads such as those showing the energetic and fluffy dog running after toys.

"To tell the truth.. I have some sad news that has been hard for me to tell you all... It took me a very long time to move on, but now it's time to relay the news.. A while back my baby dubu who I love so, so much left us for heaven.." said Seohyun in a touching farewell message for Dubu on Instagram.

"Dubu was probably so happy to have received so much love from so many people. I'm very thankful to everyone who liked and even loved Dubu. Please pray that dubu has gone to a better place," the idol added.

Fans have been extending their condolences and cheering-up messages for Seohyun, who must be feeling quite lonely without her longtime canine companion beside her.

"Hope that Dubu can be happy in heaven. We miss Dubu," "Unnie, we'll always be beside you, I hope Dubu is in a better place right now and this moment Dubu is looking to you there! I love you Fighting!" said Seohyun's supportive followers on Instagram.
