Label Rep Claims Big Bang's Seungri 'Did Not Ride In A Car' With The Girl He Had His Arm Around After A Show In Taiwan

A spokesperson for Big Bang's record label YG Entertainment responded to what has been an avalanche of online speculation on Thursday, after vocalist Lee "Seungri" Seung Hyun of the superstar K-pop group Big Bang was photographed holding hands with an attractive young woman at a club in Taipei on Saturday night following a performance in the Taiwan's capital city.

"We know that [Seungri] spent some personal time with friends at the club after his performance," the YG statement read, according to the Korean entertainment website Soompi.

"We know that he did not ride in a car with the female."

The Hong Kong media report on Seungri's much-speculated sighting with the mystery female described as "a beautiful and voluptuous woman," claim that the photo was taken at an afterparty for the Big Bang member's performance as he and the woman left the party at 3 a.m.

Seungri then reportedly got into a vehicle with another male while another car with several women followed the car. It is unclear from initial media reports whether the girl in the photo was in the trailing automobile.

The Korea Times reported on rumors in the blogosphere that the mystery woman, who reportedly also arrived at the club in Taipei's Da'an district with Seungri at 1 a.m., was "a Chinese woman studying in Korea or the band's Chinese language teacher."

Though the online comments on US-based Korean entertainment websites Soompi and allkpop seemed to focus on the level of scrutiny Seungri's love life is getting in the media.

"The media is such bull," wrote Soompi reader Kira on Thursday. "I mean these idols do have a life of their own and it goes on after their performance onstage. Really now, it doesn't concern us if Seungri wants to party after [his show], right? It's his time. He spends his own damn money. Let him do what he wants."

Novadestin questions whether there was any romance happening in the first place.

"100 percent looks like she grabbed his hand to get his attention and then points to show him something," Novadestin commented on Thursday. "Total BS, but even looking in the general direction of the opposite gender in K-pop is a mortal sin."

Allkpop reader Denn1stable got Shakespearian in his dismissal of the whole thing.

"Much ado about nothing," he wrote. "I'm surprised YG even responded. The girl does look voluptuous though."
