Brian May Recognizes Adam Lambert And Freddie Mercury's Differences As Queen Continues Tour In Argentina

Queen guitarist Brian May would be the first to admit that Adam Lambert is no Freddie Mercury but they do have a lot of differences to make the "American Idol" alum worthy to fill the rock icon.

"Well, there are differences, you know, but I think perhaps the greatest thing about Freddie is his connection with people, with an audience, and Adam has that. And I don't think that's something you can learn," he said

The Queen + Adam Lambert Tour has been making waves in Europe as the band performed to sold-out venues. Now it's conquering South America with its latest stop in Argentina.

Another thing that Adam Lambert has shown Brian May after becoming the Queen frontman in the worldwide tour is his dedication to the craft, as well as his command of the stage.

"When Adam walks onto a stage, it's not Freddie, and it's not him trying to be Freddie, but when Adam walks on and when Freddie walks on, something happens," he added. "There's some kind of catalytic action that happens between people, and it's a very rare and special thing. So I would say that's something that Adam and Freddie share, and I know that Freddie would agree with that."

Of course, there's not a lot of artists out there who could reach the octaves that Freddie Mercury was capable of, save for Adam Lambert.

"I mean, the voice... they both had, and have, incredible voices - the kind of voice that you don't find in a billion people," he added.

This wasn't the first time that the Queen guitarist complimented American Idol" alum, Adam Lambert.

"Adam has really transformed, I must say," he told Muzyka. "And, he shares that with Freddie."

"Freddie was always good, but he transformed himself from a singer who could do this or this into this really sort of god-like performer. Adam is the same. He's really evolved, hugely," Brian May added. "He's much more comfortable in his shoes. He's much more confident with an audience. In fact, it is like he was born to it. He's grown into the part."
