The young rookie singer Lee Hi has been all over the media as of late for her chart-topping singles, and now she prepares for the next right of passage for any K-Pop idol, her first commercial spot.

Less than a year after her debut and the YG starlet has already signed on to appear in a TV commercial. The 16-year-old soulful singer will star with singer Kim Bum Soo and comedian Park Myung Soo in LG's commercial for their new smartphone, the Optimus G Pro.

Each of the stars will participate in the creation of the phone's logo song for the commercial spot, as part of the G Pro Song Project. Three versions of the music have been arranged by Park Myung Soo and contest participants can send in their own lyrics. Judges will vote on who had the best concept, and the winner will be decided later this month on April 22. The lucky winner will also get to hear their song performed by Lee Hi and Kim Bum Soo in the advertisement.

A teaser video was posted showing the two gentlemen in sporty suits and red bow ties with an adorable Lee Hi in a black dress with pink hearts dancing together.

The K-Pop Star runner-up will not be the first YG Entertainment act to appear in a cell phone commercial. When they were still establishing themselves, both Big Bang and 2NE1 starred in very popular television ads for the Lollipop LG CYON. The accompanying promo song was also a big hit.

As with her previously released singles, there is a real potential for Lee Hi's Optimus G Pro commercial song to become a popular tune as well.

Veteran rapper-singer Psy also came into a different kind of international fame when he starred in a Super Bowl commercial for Wonderful Pistachios earlier this year. And Big Bang frontman G-Dragon is a spokesman for the Korean online shopping mega-site G-Market. He has appeared in several television spots with different songs to promote the website.

The young singer has been making her way up the ranks in the Korean music industry, particularly since the release of the first part of her debut album. Every single she has put out has quickly jumped to the number 1 spot on many of the South Korean music charts as well as the US Billboard K-Pop Hot 100. Most recently her song "Rose" rose to the top of several rankings.
