Big Bang's MADE Tour Is Praised By The Los Angeles Times In Glowing Review

Big Bang continues to receive positive attention from mainstream media, as the five-member powerhouse group makes theirway through North America, in a five-city tour in support of their "MADE" album.

On October 5, the kings of K-pop garnered praise from the Los Angeles Times for their nuanced and sophisticated stage presence that was delivered during their October 4 performance at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA.

"At the Honda Center on Sunday night in Anaheim, on the band's first U.S. tour in three years, its members proved why they've lasted through this sea change in K-Pop's place in America, and how they used an absence to re-imagine this stalwart group as one of the most inventive, aesthetically visionary acts in its genre," said Los Angeles Times contact reporter, August Brown.

While stadium pop has become an increasingly marginal market in the United States, Big Bang continues to be relevant to audiences in Asia and maintains the ability to turn the heads of mainstream journalists, many of whom abandoned Korean pop after the height of the "Gangnam Style" craze.

Brown went on to vividly describe the juxtaposition of Big Bang and contemporary American artists, particularly Beyonce and Taylor Swift.

"G-Dragon is the steely-eyed leader, quick to use venomous rapping or a pure falsetto to drive a song; Taeyang is bawdier and rakish; and T.O.P. is his foil: reserved except for when he raps in a baritone growl that can turn a song from catchy to menacing. Seungri, the youngest, is the sweetheart while Daesung is the muppety goofball (a gifted drummer in his own right, he's definitely their Ringo Starr)," said Brown, in his in-depth description of Big Bang.

The author weaves an illustrious tale when describing the set list from the Sunday evening show. Brown highlighted "We Like 2 Party" and "Loser" as ensemble pieces from the group, before analyzing the impressive individual performance of T.O.P on "DOOM DADA" and G-Dragon with Taeyang in their glitchy electronic duet, "Good Boy."

Big Bang brings their MADE tour to the east coast with a two-night New York City metropolitan performance at the Prudential Center in Newark, which kicks off on October 10.
