Nine Muses Member Gyeongri Sues College Student Over Illegal Use Of Photo

Nine Muses member Gyeongri is taking legal action against a college student who allegedly used the idol's photo to create an overly sexy magazine cover, reports The Korea Herald.

Gyeongri's agency, Star Empire, has filed the lawsuit in behalf of the idol in an effort to protect her image, claiming that the student violated a telecom regulation.

The student, who is enrolled in Kunsan National University, allegedly edited Gyeongri's photo to make her look like she was wearing lingerie. Moreover, the poster also included vulgar language that was intended to gain attention, similar to a tabloid.

"We've decided to take stern actions on any acts concerned with defamation and malicious rumors or comments online," Star Empire reportedly said in a statement.

The poster was uploaded online and gained attention in late September, which triggered Gyeongri's reaction and her agency's lawsuit filing.

The legal action comes as Gyeongri and the rest of Nine Muses are preparing for a new album to be released by the end of the year. This follows the group's summer single, "Hurt Locker," which was released as part of their fourth EP S/S Edition.

Most recently, Nine Muses performed in the 2015 Hallyu Dream Festival, one of the biggest music festivals held in South Korea, which took place on September 20. The girl group shared the stage with many other idol groups, including SISTAR, A Pink, Secret, SHINee, GOT7, VIXX, EXID and more.
