5 Korean Actresses Who Rocked Fairytale Looks

It's always mesmerizing to see designers transform stories into visual, contemporary masterpieces. Korean actresses often follow trendy and modern themes in magazine pictorials that don't require massive ballgowns or crystal slippers. But every once in a while, an outfit that looks straight out of a fairytale makes it to print. Check out five top picks worn by stars this year!

1. Shin Min Ah As The Little Mermaid

Shin Min Ah wore a gorgeous Valentino gown from the Spring 2015 runway in the February issue of Harper's Bazaar. The dress was made of ethereal, sheer lace and was decorated with golden starfish. It took "Under the Sea" in a very literal sense!

2. Ha Ji Won As Little Red Riding Hood

Ha Ji Won's pictorial for the January issue of Vogue Taiwan was filled with wonderful couture creations. One of the most beautiful was a forest green coat by Dolce & Gabbana from the Fall 2014 runway. The coat is intricately embroidered with foxes, branches and dream-like clouds, creating a visual story of being lost in the woods. There's even a fur-trimmed hood that gives the cape a more Gothic twist.

3. Kim Tae Hee As Cinderella

In the April issue of InStyle, Kim Tae Hee was bold in organza. She modeled a Burberry dress from the Spring 2015 collection that had a dramatic bow and layered skirt. The dress looked like it had been created with pieces from others garments, a la Cinderella!

4. Lim Ji Yeon As Belle

Lim Ji Yeon embraced her inner goddess in the September issue of Sure. She wore a ruffled wedding dress from Arche's Spring/Summer 2015 collection that would make even Belle jealous. The folded bodice gave the dress a modern upgrade that should be embraced by the next Disney princess.

5. Lee Sung Kyung As Gretel

Lee Sung Kyung was undeniably sweet in the September issue of InStyle. She coupled a Miu Miu ruffled cotton-poplin dress with plexiglass accessories that looked like flower-shaped candies. The embroidered pockets, massive buttons and apron-like front was very retro yet youthful. Look out for children-eating witches!
