YG Entertainment Fined For Unauthorized Building Construction

YG Entertainment, one of South Korea's biggest entertainment companies, was recently fined been fined for an unauthorized building construction.

On Thursday, Oct. 8, it was reported that owner, Yang Hyun Suk, was charged by the city of Seoul for violating construction codes and building an extension to YG Entertainment's headquarters without proper provincial government authorization.

According to the Seoul Mapo Police, the city office of Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu filed a lawsuit against Yang Hyun Suk for violating building codes as well as for the illegal structures built without approval from the district office.

Yang Hyun Suk is currently being indicted without detention.

YG Entertainment debuted a new boy band, iKON, earlier this month with the EP Welcome Back. The company's most popular act, Big Bang is currently in the midst of the North American leg of their MADE World Tour. They will perform in Newark, NJ on Oct. 10 and 11 and in Toronto on Oct. 13.
