’28 Months Later’ Movie Finally Have A Release Date? Danny Boyle Is ‘Serious’ About Film

Zombie fans are about to get a treat after the series director Danny Boyle revealed the possibility of "28 Months Later" with a potential release date in the next few years.

In a report by Movie Pilot, producer Alex Garland revealed that he and the director already talked about the third installation of the series and revealed that they are working on it.

"About two years ago, Danny started collaborating on the potential to make 'Trainspotting 2,' another sequel," quickly shifted his idea for a potential release date of "28 Months Later." In that conversation, an idea for '28 Months' arrived. I had a funny idea. I had a sort of weird idea that popped into my head...I had this thought, and I suggested it to Andrew and Danny, but I also said I don't want to work on it. I don't really want to play a role, and Andrew said, 'Leave it to me.' So he's gone off and is working on it."

In addition to that, Boyle reportedly confirmed with Indie Wire that the sequel of "28 Days Later" and "28 Weeks Later" would happen soon after the idea was dumped a few years back.

"I've got no problem [with 28 Months Later]," Boyle said while promoting "Steve Jobs." "It's the usual thing, ...it's not about whether people think it's a good idea that you're directing. It's whether you respond to the script or not. It's just like on [Steve Jobs]. I got the script and I went, 'That was amazing. I hope I can add to that somehow and it be even better than just the experience of reading it."

Meanwhile, in a report by Cinema Blend, Garland further revealed that although there are no release dates confirmed for the movie yet, he claimed that it would still be "28 Months Later" than "Years," giving them an opportunity to grow the franchise a lot better.

"It's more likely to be 28 Months than 28 Years. 28 Years gives you one more place to go. 28 Decades is probably taking the piss."
