Victoria Justice opened up about her recent struggles with acne and weight fluctuation: the thyroid autoimmune disorder Hashimoto's Disease. The former "Victorious" star said she suffered from skin problems and weight gain and then rapid weight loss due to the diagnosis.

According to Examiner, Hashimoto's Disease can lead to an under-active thyroid gland, affecting metabolism and causing acne and weight fluctuations.

Victoria Justice told Health magazine that she was "devastated" when she started breaking out because her whole life she had great skin.

The  the 22-year-old 5'5" actress also revealed that while she was filming a movie, her weight fluctuated by more than 15 pounds in a short period of time.

"At first, I was losing a lot of weight, then I went on tour and I started gaining weight, and it was the most I'd ever gained in my life. I was, like, 115 pounds. Then when I filmed a movie last summer, I actually went under 100 pounds. It was crazy, but things have leveled out, and I'm back to normal," she said.

She said the public scrutiny over her weight fluctuation really affected her.

"It definitely did affect my confidence, and it made me a little bit more self-conscious. But at the end of the day, I had the support of my family and friends. I knew that the people around me had my back. Now I really empathize with people who have issues with their skin, because it can get you down."

She also said that when she was first diagnosed with the thyroid autoimmune disorder, a Korean acupuncturist put her on "a super-strict diet." She was a pescatarian - eating fish but no other meat - and also couldn't eat any sugar, wheat or dairy.

"I did that for about two months, and it was so intense. I think it made my skin clearer and glow more," she said.

She now controls her numbers with a regimen of healthy eating, regular exercise, vitamin supplements and daily meditation.

Other celebrities who suffer from Hashimoto's include Oprah Winfrey, "Jane the Virgin" star Gina Rodriguez, and former "Sex and the City" actress Kim Cattrall.
