5SOS Break Up Imminent As New Album Comes? Band Struggling Because Of Girls?

5SOS members Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, Ashton Irwin and Michael Clifford are being hit with break up rumors just a week before their second album hits the record stores.

With most popular boybands opting to go their separate ways after a while together, Ashton Irwin insisted on an interview on the "Dana and Jayson Show" that it wasn't the same deal for their group.

"We're not just going to break up because it gets hard - we're just going to push on through," Ashton Irwin admitted as quoted by SugarScape.

He also said he and his bandmates were aware that there will be greater hurdles for them in the future but they don't mind facing them head on and together.

"It's the bands that realize that [there will be some bad days] that carry on and they push harder and they try to do better than the day before," Ashton Irwin explained. "That's how things work. I think people give up sometimes and sell themselves short. There's more to this band than that, and we're smart dudes."

Last year though, an Entertainment Wise report revealed 5SOS almost had to break up. In an interview with Ryan Seacrest, it was revealed that the almost cause was a girl that Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood and Michael Clifford all fancied.

"We all went through a phase where we all liked the same girl," Michael Clifford said. "We don't talk about that. It's a touchy subject."

"You're going to split the band up if you go down this trail, so let's stop!" Irwin added then.

Even up to now, the band admitted that girls still apparently do get in the way of their career as reported by Metro.

"We have definitely forgotten the lyrics before," Michael Clifford revealed to Guilty Pleasures in September as cited by the source above. "It's really embarrassing because you'll be singing the words and then you'll see (a hot girl)."

Although Luke Hemmings and the rest of the group have been linked to various girls as well lately, they also said last month that they don't have time for dating.

"I wouldn't mind a girlfriend," Luke Hemmings said, "But I don't think it would work, there's just not a lot of time."

Break up rumors aside, 5SOS will release their second album next Friday, Oct. 23, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.
