A seemingly innocent field trip ends up with Abby fighting for the life of hostages, according to the latest spoilers for "NCIS" season 13, episode 5.

The synopsis teased spoilers for "NCIS" season 13, episode 5 as it reads, "Abby is held hostage when armed men take over a pharmaceutical lab where she is visiting to talk to a doctor about a murder investigation."

Cartermatt said that fans will get to see another side of Abby in "Lockdown."

"Not only are we going to get a chance to see her do some of what she does well, but also take on some other duties as well in 'Lockdown,'" it said. "Is she going to be able to serve as a proper hostage negotiator, and keep a whole lot of people in danger safe? That's something we are excited to get a chance to further see."

"NCIS" season 13 stars Mark Harmon as NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, Michael Weatherly as NCIS Special Agent Anthony "Tony" DiNozzo, David McCallum as Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard, Pauley Perrette as Abby Sciuto, Sean Murray as NCIS Special Agent Timothy McGee, Rocky Carroll as NCIS Director Leon Vance, Brian Dietzen as Jimmy Palmer and Emily Wickersham as Probationary NCIS Agent Eleanor "Ellie" Bishop.

Guest star for this particular episode include former NFL player Tony Gonzalez as NCIS Special Agent Tony Francis.

The last episodes focused on Agent Gibbs and DiNozzo when Mark Harmon's character was on the brink of death on the season 12 finale, so it's a breath of fresh air for the series to focus on Abby this time around and watch what she can do outside the confines of her laboratory.
