Justin Bieber’s Anne Frank Comments Received Criticism, Singer Said Diarist’s Would Have Been A “Belieber”

Justin Bieber’s Anne Frank comments received wide criticism after the Anne Frank House posted on its Facebook page what the singer wrote on the guestbook after visiting the museum for an hour.

Bieber wrote, “Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a believer.”

The Anne Frank House Facebook page said that Bieber went to the museum with friends and guards and that the singer’s fans were waiting outside to see a glimpse of him.

Justin Bieber’s comment stirred up a lot of conversation on social media, mostly negative, according to the Huffington Post. He has been called “a little idiot” who is “way too full of himself.” Another commenter said, “Glad he went, but the last sentence is VERY self serving,” and one more person said, “way to turn an inspiring moment into something about yourself.”

Someone who was less conscious of her venting said of the pop star, “What a immature and disgusting thing to write in her book! As an American I am truly sorry he went there and did this.” It’s important to note that Justin Bieber is Canadian.

Not only has the Facebook page of the Anne Frank house been peppered with criticism on Justin Bieber’s comment, but the Twittersphere was all over it as well.

A featured Tweeter on Huffington Post sent out a message, “Just when you thought Bieber couldn’t do anything worse, he decided to write in the guest book at Anne Frank’s house.”

TMZ’s comment on the story, humorously and unapologetically said, “had she [Anne Frank] lived… the April 13 diary entry would sure have included the word ‘douchebag.’”

Bieber is in the middle of his European tour. He stopped by the Anne Frank House between his concert in Antwerp, Belgium and a Saturday performance in Arnhem, Netherlands.
