'Gilmore Girls' Renewed? Show Heads To Netflix On A Limited-Series Revival

Good news "Gilmore Girls" fans since the hit series is renewed and coming to Netflix on a limited-series order.

"Sources confirm that Netflix has closed a deal with Warner Bros. for a limited-series revival of Gilmore Girls penned by series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and exec producer Daniel Palladino, said TVLine.

Right now, wrote Michael Ausiello, the cast is negotiating with producers, Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson and Kelly Bishop are on board, which is really crucial for the "Gilmore Girls" to be renewed.

The new series will be a mini-movie format lasting an hour and a half each for four episodes.

It's good news that "Gilmore Girls" was renewed under Netflix because Lauren Graham had said that the cancellation took her by surprise.

In an interview with Late Night back in January, she said that they shot the last episode without the cast and crew knowing although the cancellation hung heavy on their mind.

When did she hear about the "Gilmore Girls" cancellation?

"I was in a restaurant and I had turned my phone off, cause that's polite," she narrated. "The waiter comes to the table and he was like, 'Are you Lauren Graham?' I was like, 'Yes!' He goes, 'Your agent's on the phone!' I thought I was in a '40s movie or something. I was like, walking to the house phone."

"I was like, 'Hello?' and he goes, 'It's cancelled,' and that's how I found out that it was the end. It's better to be able to say goodbye."

Lauren Graham also addressed the report about "Gilmore Girls" being renewed in Netflix but she's non-committal. She tweeted, "DUDES. I can't confirm this. But I also can't deny this..."

"Please let this be true!! Freaking out. This would be so amazing," one of her fans wrote.

Another commented, "I can only imagine the amount of tweets you're getting today! I'm crossing my fingers it's true!!!! #GilmoreGirls."
