CNBLUE’s Jung Yong Hwa Named Ambassador To 2016 One Asia Festival

CNBLUE lead singer Jung Yong Hwa has been chosen as the official ambassador of 2016 One Asia Festival to be held in Busan.

The fact that Yong Hwa hails from Busan and is also a rising celebrity in Asia, especially in China, made him an obvious choice in becoming the promotional face of the upcoming festival, according to organizers.

"We want to grow an internationally representative tourism brand of a new paradigm by connecting Asia's representative performances and arts with Hallyu. We'll be appointing Yong Hwa as the face of the festival, who is a Hallyu star from Busan who is playing a big role in spreading Hallyu in China," a representative from the city government reportedly said, reports Allkpop.

It has not been revealed what kind of promotional activities Yong Hwa will perform in his role as a festival ambassador, but his duties will commence after receiving the appointment on October 21.

Yong Hwa and his band CNBLUE are currently making the music show rounds to promote their new single "Cinderella," the title track to their new disco-rock album 2gether. The group already won first place trophies on Show! Champion and Music Bank.

Aside from his band activities, Yong Hwa is also expanding his popularity as an actor and solo artist, having recently finished an Asian tour spanning Seoul, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Beijing, Singapore and Bangkok, among other cities in the region.
