One of the fastest rising Korean actors, Seo Kang Jun, has been chosen to host the 2015 MelOn Music Awards, reports The Korea Herald.

Sources from MelOn divulged on Oct. 20 that the Roommate alumni and Cunning Single Lady star will act as MC for the music awards event which will be held on Nov. 7 at the Olympic Park gym.

"After his debut in 2013, Seo has been actively pushing his acting career forward," a MelOn official reportedly said on why the popular young actor was chosen. "We thought Seo's masculine yet boyish charisma will well suit the overall atmosphere of the ceremony."

Aside from Seo Kang Jun's choice as the host, the 2015 MelOn Music Awards has also been gaining buzz after it was reported that Big Bang and possibly other YG Entertainment artists will be appearing and performing at the event.

Seo Kang Jun is set to become even more popular as he stars in the upcoming tvN drama Cheese in the Trap, a small screen adaptation of the popular web comic of the same name. He will play as Baek In Ho, a second male lead that views for the affection of the drama heroine, Hong Seol, played by actress Kim Go Eun. Actor Park Hae Jin rounds out the love triangle as the dashing but darkly mysterious Yoo Jung.
