K-Beauty Review: INNISFREE It's Real Squeeze Mask, Aloe

Aloe does wonders to the skin - anyone who has suffered a bad sunburn can attest to that fact. Just lathering on some aloe on a burn or rash provides instant soothing and healing. Find out how the Innisfree It's Real Squeeze Mask in Aloe lives up to expectations in our K-Beauty review.

Description

The Innisfree It's Real Squeeze Mask in Aloe contains an organic "green complex" from Korea's Jeju Island, including extracts of green tea, tangerine, cactus, camellia leaves and orchid to keep your skin healthy, especially skin that is stressed or aggravated.

The product boasts a triple-layered sheet that "has a long-lasting moisturizing effect on the mask so that the essence can be absorbed into your skin and nourish it."

Packaging

I've always been a sucker for Innisfree's classy and pampering packaging and the slip for the It's Real Squeeze Mask in Aloe is no different. The photo on the front shows juicy aloe leaves and a wooden spoon filled with chunks of hydrating aloe. The instructions for the product are listed in both Korean and English on the back.

Application

The directions ask users to cleanse and tone the skin and remove the mask from the package.

It advises users to place the mask on the face while avoiding the eye and lip area.

Leave the sheet on for 10-20 minutes, peel off, and pat remaining serum into the skin.

Product

This mask from Innisfree was much easier to unravel than the company's Hydro Gel masks. It had a nice smell but a bit too much like perfume - I would have preferred a more subtle, natural scent.

The fit of this mask was also a little smaller than Innisfree's Hydro Gel masks. It went on smoothly and attached well to my face but didn't reach the top of my forehead. The part that is supposed to cover my nose was also way too small - it wouldn't reach the edges of my nose where most of my redness lies. However, the fit around my eye area was fine.

Results

The redness around my chin, cheeks, and forehead was visibly reduced after using this mask. My face also appeared brighter and whitened and all around evened out the tone of my skin. It was refreshing, but not necessarily super hydrating. I believe this mask would be good to hydrate after a long day out in the sun and for sensitive skin, but not strong enough for a brutal winter day.

Pros & Cons

Pros: Refreshing, reduces redness, easy to apply

Cons: Too small, smell was too strong, not hyper-moisturizing
