Jaejoong And Yoochun Join Junsu For The Korean Popular Culture And Arts Awards

The members of JYJ reunited at the 2015 Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards. On October 29, the trio appeared together at the National Theater of Korea to accept the Prime Minister's Award for their accomplishments within K-pop and their impact on the spread of Korean pop culture.

Junsu was joined by Jaejoong and Yoochun. Jaejoong, who enlisted in the Korean military on March 31, 2015, appeared in full uniform. His appearance at the program was made more notable by the inclusion of Yoochun, whose mandatory conscription began on August 27, 2015.

"Thank you for inviting us here for such a meaningful award," said Junsu. "We were able to gather in one place. I hope we [JYJ] can continue to spread Hallyu."

On October 19, Junsu released his solo album "Yesterday," under his alternate stage name, XIA. The eight track mini album incorporated acoustic ballads with hip-hop infused pop ditties.

Soloist IU was also a recipient of the Prime Minister's Award, along with prominent K-Drama stars Park Shin Hye, Lee Jong Suk and "Running Man" cast member, Kim Jong Kook.

IU is also celebrating the successful October release of "Chat-Shire." "Chat-Shire" combines retro French-inspired songs with modern indie-pop gems like the promotional track, "Twenty-Three."

Other notable honorees at the Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards included "Assassination" star, Jun Ji Hyun.

The mother-to-be was the recipient of the President's Award for her endeavors in film and Korean drama. Jun witnessed the revitalization of her acting career with the success of the Hallyu sensation, "My Love from the Star," before returning to the silver screen for the period espionage flick, "Assassination."

"I'm not sure it's okay to receive this big award," said Jun. "I'll communicate with fans and contribute to Korean pop culture, more."

The ceremony was broadcast through Naver's V app, with English subtitles, for international viewers.
