Seth MacFarlane Asked Back For Oscars 2014? Rumors Say That Comedian, Family Guy Creator, Was Offered To Host Film’s Biggest Night Next Year

Seth MacFarlane asked back? That’s the question in everyone’s mind after entertainment blog, JustJared.com posted an exclusive report saying that the comedian and famous creator of Family Guy and director of the movie, Ted, has been asked to return as host for the 2014 Academy Awards.

Seth MacFarlane, 39, hosted the year’s ceremony to acclaim from many critics, but also stirred controversy with some of the jokes he threw during the broadcast. Despite the controversy, which included a statement from the Anti-Defamation League, the ratings for the 2013 Oscars ceremony were up significantly over the year before. A total of 40.3 million viewers turned in during this year’s show.

Earlier in the week, it was confirmed that producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, the people responsible for hiring MacFarlane, will return to lead the production of next year’s show.

JustJared.com exclusive sources on the issue said, “After defending his performance, the producers reached out to Seth and invited him back to host the show again." They added, however, that Seth is “not sure if he’s going to do it, but he has to decide within the next couple of weeks.”

In a tweet, Seth MacFarlane said that he would not host the Oscars if he was asked to do it again.
