Ann Curry Criticized By Brian Stelter In Book, “Top Of The Morning,” Says “Wasn’t Good At Job” While At Today

Journalist Ann Curry seems to not get a break from the criticism she has been receiving lately, and the book that New York Times media reporter Brian Stelter released is only adding to the heap of negativity.

According to Stelter, Ann Curry “wasn’t good at her job,” commenting on the Today show host’s controversial firing. The author also said that she was highly critical of her popular TV host, and that she was largely responsible for the Today show being displaced by Good Morning America as the number early morning talk show in America.

Stelter argued that the shift in ratings towards Good Morning America was an indictment on Curry and a clear indication on how she was doing at her job.

The New York Times added that NBC was also to blame, that producers of the show allowed Today to go stale.

Curry’s co-host, Matt Lauer, has endured a tough time since she was fired. Lauer even previously shared how some people have come up to him and screamed at him for what happened.

Public perception is that Lauer was largely responsible for Ann Curry’s firing from Today.

According to gossip website TMZ, because of the notion that Lauer caused Ann Curry to get fired, he was “miserable” and people reportedly shouted at him things like, “You’re a bad guy,” and “You got Ann Curry fired. Does that make you happy?”

The longtime Today show cost, however, has insisted numerous times that Curry being fired from the show has nothing to do with him, and that it was not his fault. Regardless though, the abuse continued and even months after the incident, all the news about Lauer and Curry was said to be getting the presenter down.

Towards the end of last year, Lauer was also the target of rumors that claimed he could also be let go from NBC, to be replaced by “Morning Joe” anchor Willie Geist. NBC, however, has consistently denied the rumors.
