Anne Hathaway Blonde Look Inspired By Debbie Harry: Actress Showcased New Do At Met Gala 2013

Anne Hathaway in blonde was well noticed at last night’s 2013 Met Gala. The Oscar-winning actress debuted a platinum new do at Monday’s prestigious event, which she paired with a vintage Valentino dress, USA Today reports.

According to the paper, a demure ballgown constitutes punk at least by the standards of the attendees of the Met Gala last night.

Anne Hathaway’s said of her Valentino gown as “the most punk thing he’s ever done.” Celebrity colorist Marie Robinson was the person responsible for the actress’s new do, which was the talk on Twitter after she showed it off at the fashion event.

"I don't know that you could tell it by looking at me, but Debbie Harry was (my inspiration)," speaking to Vogue.com on the red carpet.

The sartorial star of the night, however, was Sarah Jessica Parker. The tv and film star wore a Philip Treacy faux-hawk headpiece and specifically asked for Nars’ new Tender Night velvette matte lip pencil – a low-key shade that allows her updo do the talking.

Miley Cyrus, who has been visible in the press lately for her choice of apparel in shoots and day-to-day living, donned a second skin mesh Marc Jacobs gown. She also had celebrity stylist Oribe, who has been J. Lo’s longtime choice for a hair pro, to spike out her hair. She dubbed her look “fearless” which many observers and critics agree on.

As for the Anne Hathaway inspiration – Debbie Harry – the music icon wore Tommy Hilfiger and sat at the designer’s table, together with Zoey Deschanel and Nicki Minaj.

The steep staircase at the Metropolitan Museum of Art isn’t an easy ride up to the most prestigious event in the style world. Heidi Klum stumbled as she was moving up and had to be helped up in her ballgown. Kim Kardashian, meanwhile, who was wearing a Givenchy floral frock with attached gloves, looked game, but was uncomfortable as she treks the vertical climb.
