FTISLAND Lee Hong Ki Has No Problem Playing Troublemaker For Upcoming Movie

FTISLAND's Lee Hong Ki says playing the role of a troublemaker was easy for him.

Lee Hong Ki, member of idol group FTISLAND is well known for his upbeat, playful personality and he says getting into character for his upcoming debut film, "Rockin' on Heaven's Door" (English title; Passionate Goodbye is the literal title for the movie), was a piece of cake.

During a press conference for the soon-to-be-released movie about a big-headed pop star dealing with the pressures of life and fame, Hong Ki said it was easy for him to assume the character's persona as he was "born with a playfulness."

The 23-year-old singer did, however, add that it was considerably more difficult acting as the matured and sincere version of his character by the end of the Rockin' on Heaven's Door.

At the press conference held at Lotte Cinema in Seoul on May 7, Hong Ki gave his acting skills a "5 out of 10."

He went on to explain, "I felt it after I finished filming the movie. If I focused a little more, I noticed that there were some scenes that could have come out better. I felt regretful about that."

While the FTISLAND idol has appeared on the small screen, Rockin' on Heaven's Door is his first full length feature film, which also presented its own set of challenges.

"Because it was my first time filming a movie, I think I was unaware of a lot of things," Hong Ki said at Tuesday's press conference. "Because I had a lot of time and got close with everyone, I was just excited. I feel regretful that I was a bit lacking in concentration."

But Hong Ki was praised by the movie's director, Nam Teak-soo. He had nothing but wonderful things to say about the young idol and pointed out Hong Ki's musical talents for being essential to the movie. According to the director, the FT Island star impressively played all five instruments that are played by his character and the bandmates in the film.

Rockin' on Heaven's Door follows the story of a troublemaker idol who does something he should not have and promises to make amends for it by serving the community. Hong Ki's character goes to work in a hospice hospital where he matures and becomes more sincere and genuine.

Rockin' on Heaven's Door will be released on May 30, but in the meantime FT Island fans are enjoying Hong Ki's performance in the international reality show We Got Married: Global Edition.

The singer has had the opportunity to show off his naturally playful personality in his fake arranged marriage with Japanese actress Fuji Mina.

Mina attended the press conference and presented her "husband" with a bouquet of flowers to congratulate him. She said, "I watched the clip of Passionate Goodbye today and felt very touched."
