Super Junior singer Yesung posted a handwritten letter to his fans on Facebook Wednesday, from the military training facility where he began his two-year enlistment in the South Korean military.

The Super Junior singer also posted a group photo of his boot camp brigade at the Jeonbuk Jeonju 35th Training Center where he will receive basic military training for the next month.

"I will be missing you guys for two years," Yesung wrote to his fans.

"I think of the stage and I want to sing a song very much right? But since I practiced for five years and eight years together with you guys compared to that time, I believe that it will pass just like that!"

The 28-year-old Yesung, who rose to international fame in the K-pop boy band Super Junior was emotional right from the opening paragraphs of his letter, which began "Dear E.L.F."

For the uninitiated, E.L.F. is the word for Super Junior's fan base. The anagram stands for Ever Lasting Friends.

"Why is it that when I see you guys, my heart is unable to speak and I can't show a smile?" Yesung wrote.

"I'm afraid that I couldn't greet you guys properly, so that's why I'm writing this letter. Thank you for making memories that I can't forget for me, who lacks a lot of things."

Hundreds of Super Junior fans gathered in front of the South Korean army facility where Yesung, whose real name is Kim Jong-woon, showed up to enlist.

Yesung, who joined Super Junior in 2005 reportedly stayed in his car on his way to the enlistment center, despite the crowds. But he later took to Twitter to thank them.

"Thank you for coming so far," Yesung tweeted following his enlistment. "I told you not to come. Everyone, be healthy. See you again."

Yesung also showed signs of nostalgia for his days in the group in his May 5 tweets.

"I will miss it all," he wrote. "Stages, songs...I look forward the day we meet again...no worries, love you all!"

In addition to being a member of Super Junior for eight years, Yesung also formed a sub-unit called Super Junior K.R.Y with bandmates Kyuhyun and Ryeowook.

Last week, a representative from Super Junior's record label SM Entertainment explained why the other Super Junior band members would not be accompanying him to the enlistment center.

"His military training area is far away, and he wants to enlist quietly," the rep said. "The Super Junior members will not be accompanying him at this time."

Signed Super Junior Yesung, the singer's May 8 letter from boot camp ends with the K-pop star promising to return better than ever.

"I'm going to show a healthier and cooler image and I will sing you a good song soon," he wrote. "That's a promise! Take care of super junior well and please don't forget me okay?"
