Melon’s Most Liked Girl Group Songs of 2016 – Bolbbalgan4, Twice, Gfriend, Mamamoo, Red Velvet, Wonder Girls, I.O.I, and Blackpink

Have you ever wondered what girl group songs are most liked by the Korean citizens?

Well, no need to wonder anymore because we give you the list!

As of January 4, this year, first on the top 10 list, with 164k likes, is the newly debuted female duo Bolbbalgan4. Their song "Galaxy" is the most liked song by a girl group last year.

The second and third places are both occupied by the trendy girl group Twice. The nine-member girl group has not only been sweeping the hearts of Koreans and international fans but also the charts. "Cheer Up" has 162k likes while "TT" has 131k likes.

In the fourth place is another trendy girl group. Gfriend's "Rough" has more than 117k likes. Meanwhile, the fifth place is coveted by the veteran girl group Wonder Girls. In the middle of all the rookies, Wonder Girls' song "Why So Lonely" has more than 104k likes.

Next to them is SM Entertainment's latest girl group, Red Velvet. Red Velvet's "Russian Roulette" has 97k likes. After them is YG Entertainment's super rookie girl group, Blackpink. One of their debut songs, "Whistle" has now more than 87k likes.

In the eight place is another rookie girl group, I.O.I. I.O.I is said to be the nation's produced girl group and it showed as they have 82k likes with "Very Very Very" on Melon.

After I.O.I is the very talented Mamamoo. Mamamoo's earlier release "You're The Best" has 81k likes. Meanwhile, in the tenth place is another Gfriend song "Navillera" with 80k likes.

2016 was definitely the year of girl groups as they dominated most of the charts throughout the year. It also looks like this year will be dominated by girl groups again as it has been only January but the number of debuts and comebacks made by girl groups are very plenty.
