Fast and Furious 6 Cars: The Six Coolest Vehicles Featured In The Movie

The New York Daily News delves in on the hottest Fast and Furious 6 cars that is sure to not only amaze viewers with their speed and precision, but make every car-lover fall in love with the movie that has been amazing filmgoers since it was first released.

“Fast and Furious 6” will feature an all-star cast of automotive all stars, mixing the selection with long-admired American muscle cars and European classics. We look at six of the hottest vehicles featured in the film.

Dodge Charger Daytona

The Daytona was built with one purpose in mind and it is: To win in NASCAR. With its sleeker aerodynamic packaging, the 1969 Charger Daytona in the movie (image of car above) could top 200-mph- prompting NASCAR to quickly ban these extreme aero add-ons from the race track.

Jensen Interceptor

The Jensen Interceptor combined an Italian-designed body, complete with a huge bubble-shaped rear glass hatch, with the meanest and most ground-thumping Chrysle V-8 engine of today. It is one of the fastest and most luxurious GTs from the late-1960s to the mid-1970s. The car in the film has been modified from stock and now sports racier front end and rear fasciae, along with some beastly side-exit exhausts.

Ford Escort

This isn’t the Ford Escort typically on the market, the one in “Fast and Furious 6” was outfitted with the right parts and tuned to perfection, making it a veritable giant-killer in the world of rallying.

Dodge Charger SRT8

The classic Charger was the main attraction in the very first film – but it was demolished. It was resurrected in full-view for the newest movie. Behind the SRT8’s gaping front grille is a 470-hp 6.4-liter engine V-8 engine, which is coupled with a 5-speed automatic transmission. This vehicle will smoke its tires whenever you need it to and will make any driver holding the wheel want to gas pedal every time.

Alfa Romeo Giulietta

The hottest version of the Giulietta have a snarling turbocharged 4-cylinder and four-wheel drive and is not always available in the America’s. The film used this car to pit against a massive cargo plane in the middle of take-off. It’s a must-see!

A Tank

This one is almost a no-brainer and the “Fast and Furious 6” crew used two of these for the latest installment. The two tank models were built, using a heavy-duty truck chassis, the type that is commonly used in motorhomes.

According to the Daily News, approximately 300 cars were used during the filming, and the tanks scene was one of the main culprits for the automotive carnage.
