TVXQ Holds Press Conference in Kuala Lumpur, 'Apologizes for Not Visiting for 6 Years'

The temperature in the Topaz Room of The Saujana Hotel Resort last Saturday, 18 May 2013 was rather 'hotter' than ever. As the clock struck at 4.00pm, the highly anticipated K-pop royalty, TVXQ, arrived in the room, being welcomed by the flashes of cameras from the guests of Medias, sponsors and lucky fans who have been waiting for their arrival to personally greet the Malaysian Press after 6 years for their 'TVXQ! Catch Me World Tour LIVE in Kuala Lumpur'.

As Yunho and Changmin walked into the room, handsomely dressed in black suits, they took the centre stage and greet the audience in three different languages starting with Korean followed by Malay and English. It has been 6 years since their last visit to Malaysia and the duo made a confession that they missed performing in Malaysia. Yunho stated that, "Even though it's been a long time we're in Malaysia, yet we still received a warm welcome by the fans like always and I thanked everyone who welcomes us with their warm heart. I apologize for making everyone especially our fans waiting for us for a long period. I miss you too."

After their last visit 6 years ago in Malaysia, the duo seems ready to make a stellar comeback and dazzle their Malaysian 'Cassiopeia' with a spectacular performance.  Yunho further mentioned that for 'Catch Me LIVE' in Malaysia tonight, everything from the stage layout, setting and venue are meant to be intimate with fans; hence the stage were specially built closer to the audience seating. I'm expecting more interactions and eye contact with fans while performing. It's going to be fun filled concert and this was the special added value for the concert tonight'. Changmin also added that since it's been 6 years and fans were anticipated for them, to perform in front of Malaysian fans and to be in the same venue with them in close proximity, coupled with an up-close and personal performance is an experience that he has been waiting for and will make them happy and satisfied.

While being on tour in different countries, they must have encountered different cultures along the way, hence when they were asked if they have prepared something special for Malaysian fans, Yunho stated that the concept of the concert tour was almost the same for every countries but he promised to showcase his special talent. He also added that they were greet the fans in English at the beginning, but since Malay language has a nice pronunciation, he will definitely showcase his Malay 'expertness' later during the concert. When the MC further asked if they would love to learn other Malay phrases, Yunho happily said 'Certainly'. He automatically stated 'Saya Cinta Padamu' which meant 'I love you' which certainly bring joyful and applause from the audience.

Since TVXQ were known as 'record breaking singing idol', it was a delightful scene to see Changmin channeling his talents in hosting variety shows nowadays despite their heavy schedules. Changmin stated, "It has been a decade since I first joined variety shows. I have met good staffs and being in a variety show made me want to show a healthy image and gives cheerful smiles to everyone; hence that is the image I want to show to everyone." Hearing that, Yunho quickly assured the audience that Changmin's show was fun which brings laughs to the audience.

In addition to that, as one of the leading K-pop fashion icons, Yunho were also asked about his airport fashion which garnered lots of attention. He was very thankful that people gave attention to his fashion sense and labeled him as 'airport fashion icon' but humbly denied that he was one. He further stated, "What I wear was something normal that I discussed with my staffs or my coordinator. I'm thankful to everyone who thinks that I look good in whatever that I wear. I usually wear casual and sneakers. I'm actually more interested in sandals and if I get the opportunity to showcase the sandals fashion, I would love to do it."

It must have been a good memory for the duo to step on the Malaysian soil once again and when they were asked if they have any plans of sightseeing in Malaysia for this visit, Changmin said he wished he can made more good memories in Malaysia and continue to apologise that this tour was a short visit too, as they will be heading back to Seoul after the concert. However, Yunho added that their stay in the resort this time was a good place for relaxation with a nice summer feeling, and he wished to stay in a resort rather than a hotel like they always do when they were on tour. He jokingly stated that if he has the time now, he would jump into the pool for a lap of swimming. He also added that he preferred to go for a bowling or trying a marine sport such as scuba diving during his leisure time.

On their last message to fans attending their concert later on the evening, Changmin once again apologized for letting the fans who have been waiting 6 years for them to be back in Malaysia and promised a spectacular performance. There will be songs performed for the first time and it will be a good, enjoyable and memorable one.
