SBS funE quoted several industry insiders claiming that Jeong Jinwoon and Kyungri have been meeting one another for the past two years which started some time in 2017. It is said that it was the time when the two decided to be more than just sunbae and hoobae. One of the sources said that the pair were often spotted on dates last year, whenever the male artist was given breaks from his mandatory service.

An official from the agency said, "They are serious about one another." In response to this, a representative from Jeong Jinwoon's entertainment agency Mystic Story told the media outlets, "Jinwoon and Kyungri were able to maintain a close relationship after having to work with each other on different broadcast programs. Since the end of 2017, they started dating with mutual feelings."

The rep added, "Please continue to support them and cheer them on as Jinwoon carries on with his duties in the military, and Kyungri appears and meets fans on various shows."

Way back in December 2017, the two celebrities launched a special Christmas collaboration song titled "White Christmas." The couple also worked together on Comedy TV's variety show called "Guys Who Buy New Products."

Jeong Jinwoon debuted as a 2AM member in July 2008 under JYP Entertainment with the group's first single "This Song." He became part of the boy band after Daehun departed from the agency. Jinwoon then did not renew his contract with JYP in March 2015, then four years later, he enlisted for his mandatory military service. He is the final 2AM member to join the armed forces. Jinwoon is currently serving in the military corps.

Meanwhile, Kyungri became a member of Nine Muses in 2012, which is two years after the group made their debut with their first single album "Let's Have a Party" in August 2010. She was added after members Bini and Rana withdrew from the group in January 2011 to focus on other areas. This past February, Nine Muses' label Star Empire Entertainment revealed that the team would be disbanded.
