Disneyland Explosion: Employee Arrested And Held On $1 Million Bail For Setting Off Dry Ice Bomb [VIDEO]

After the Disneyland explosion on Tuesday, an employee of the theme park has been arrested and held on $1 million bail for putting a dry ice bomb in a trash can inside the Toontown area of the park.

The employee who was arrested for the Disneyland explosion was Christian Barnes, who is 22 years old and works as an outdoor vendor at the theme park.

According to Anaheim Police Sergeant Bob Dunn, Christian Barnes, from Long Beach, was arrested by detectives in order to cooperate with the investigation of the Disneyland explosion.

The small explosion that occurred at the Disney theme park in California on Tuesday evening caused no injuries or damage, but the theme park's personnel say that they do not overlook incidents like these.

Suzi Brown, who is Director of Media Relations for Disneyland Resort, said, "We take matters like this very seriously and are working closely with local authorities."

Authorities say that "Barnes is cooperating with investigators and has indicated this is an isolated incident with unanticipated impacts."

In response to the explosion, people who were visiting Mickey's Toontown were forced to be evacuated the area.

One visitor, Mark Rohrbaugh recounted the experience, saying, "We were only there a minute or two when a Disney person came up and told us we needed to evacuate the area."

Another witness, Treyson Brown, said, "All of a sudden you hear this huge pop and you see some stuff out of the trash can."

Barnes was arrested on suspicion of possessing a destructive device and placing it in the trash can. It is still unknown as to whether the dry ice bomb was set off intentionally or accidentally.

Authorities said that these incidents "are very common, unfortunately, in our neighborhoods, so we do respond to these quite a bit."
