Yves Saint Laurent's Sales Reaches New Heights Thanks to BLACKPINK Rosé

As BLINKs know, BLACKPINK's Rosé is the newest ambassador for high-end designer brand Yves Saint Laurent. The idol has been featured in the brand's global campaign for only a month, but she is already proving her popularity and her ability to sell out! According to data from iPrice Group, a Southeast Asian price comparison site, people's interest in Yves Saint Lauren has skyrocketed across the globe, with some regions seeing an increase of 1,000% in interest!

Yves Saint Laurent revealed their global campaign featured Rosé back on June 29 for their Fall 2020 collection. Since then, billboards of the idol can be seen all around the globe, from the East to the West.

Hong Kong

Interest in Yves Saint Laurent has increased tremendously in Southeast Asia following the reveal of Rosé in the brand's campaign material. According to iPrice Group, within the first two weeks of Yves Saint Laurent appointing the BLACKPINK member as their brand ambassador, searches for the brand increased on numerous online stores in the Philippines, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore.

Searches for Yves Saint Laurent produces increased with a 13% average across all countries. In particular, Malaysia and the Philippines saw the biggest jump in numbers with a 23% and 22% increase respectively.

The most searched product? Handbags! In Indonesia, searches for Yves Saint Laurent bags have increased by a whopping 1,168% following the launch of Rosé's campaigns. Hong Kong saw an increase of 600% and Thailand had an increase of 326% for handbag searches. On average, Southeast Asian countries saw a 343% increase in interest for Yves Saint Laurent handbags.

The idol herself has stated that she has a taste for luxury bags, which started when she was a teen after borrowing her mom's vintage bags. it seems BLINKs have similar tastes to Rosé!

As it's only been a month since the release of her campaign material, the numbers are expected to keep increasing. Just goes to show the selling power of Rosé!Rosé debuted in 2016 as a member of YG Entertainment's girl group BLACKPINK.

She is the group's main vocal and lead dancer. She had auditioned for the company when she was just fifteen years old after her father had heard about the auditioned and encouraged her to go. Though hesitant, she ended up auditioning and ranked first amongst 700 participants. She left for South Korea that same year.Before her debut, Rosé featured on G-Dragon's song "Without You."

At the time of release, she was not credited. Credits were given after she was revealed as a member of BLACKPINK.She trained for four years before being announced as a member of BLACKPINK. She gained fame for her distinct vocal timbre following her debut. Korean singer Gummy, who Rosé has stated is her musical role model, has complimented her voice, saying that it is so unique and is the type of voice young people will love.

On June 2, 2020, YG Entertainment Rosé would be making her solo debut in September 2020 following the release of BLACKPINK's first-ever full-length studio album.
