You Just Get Better With Time: K-pop Idols Who Grew On You

There are always those idols who grow on you over time. Everyone's got their favorites and non-favorites but once in awhile an idol you didn't care for seeps into your space and gives you a reason to become a fan. Here is my personal list of idols that made me love them over time.

2AM's Jo Kwon was such an enigma to me when he first debuted. I didn't understand how this individual could ever be a big time idol star and judged him strictly on his inability to be masculine. Nothing about him made sense to me until I saw him being all kinds of goofy and hilarious on variety shows. Jo Kwon is a huge hit in my household. My parents love seeing him on variety shows and I have really grown to love the talented youngster overtime for not only his singing voice, but his personality. He's got more funny and entertainment in his finger than 5 idols put together. Who doesn't love a boy who has no comedic boundaries?

MBLAQ's Lee Joon physically grew on me over time. When the group debuted, I remember distinctively thinking that he didn't have the face to make him a popular idol in K-pop-boy was I wrong. He's got one of those faces that just gets more and more attractive as time goes by, and plus, he's got the personality of a man any girl would want to spend endless days with. Handsome, charming, and likeable? Lee Joon, thanks for proving me wrong.

When 2NE1 first made their debut, I was not a fan of Dara for a various number of reasons. For starters, she wasn't born to be a singer and as I watched her through the weeks, I realized that she just didn't have what it took to compete with the rest of her powerful members who were insanely gifted in rapping, dancing, and singing. I just didn't couldn't grasp the group's identity with Dara in it and for awhile had trouble fully loving 2NE1. After watching 2NE1 TV, I soon came to the realization that this group needed Dara as much as it needed Bom, Minzy, and CL. She brought the cuteness, the charm, and the slight innocence to the fierce group. I still may not be a huge fan of Dara musically, but I do respect and appreciate her for who she is and how she betters 2NE1.

SONES, please do not kill me, but when your 9 ladies first debuted, I was not a fan. Nine girls in group was way too much for me to handle and I remember being annoyed at their super girly image and outfits. I was itching for a group of girls to debut who didn't conform to the bubblegum pop trend and I was quite disappointed and overwhelmed when Girls Generation first cute-sied their way onto our screens. It wasn't until "Gee" was released did I realize that these girls were not playing around. They wanted world domination and nobody was going to keep them for achieving just that. I came to soon love SNSD and what they stood for and I'm happy to say that I'm still a fan.
