Dispatch Threatens Legal Action for Misuse of Their Logo Following Viral Fan Edit of EXO Chanyeol and BLACKPINK Rosé
Following EXO member Chanyeol's alleged ex-girlfriend cheating scandal, a fan-edited photo made to appear as a Dispatch report of him with BLACKPINK member Rosé went viral. Photos of the two idols appearing to be on a date together spread on various online community forums on Thursday, October 29. Netizens had claimed it was evidence of a romantic relationship between Chanyeol and Rosé. Many people fell for the photo, as it has a Dispatch watermark on the lower left side of the photo.

However, after further research, it was revealed that the photo was actually made in 2018 by an overseas netizen. The photo has been making its rounds on the interview for two years. The photo is a composite of the two idols' faces. Dispatch has never reported about the two being linked romantically and has never done anything to perpetuate such rumors.
As the photo continued to go viral, Dispatch issued a warning in both Korean and English to their Instagram page. In their warning, they announced that they will bet making strict legal action against anyone who is caught spreading fake images using the Dispatch watermark. They will be charged, as they are can be considered liable for spreading fake news.

Chanyeol and Rosé have interacted in the past. Back in 2016, the two performed a collaboration in SBS's 'SAF Music Awards' alongside TWICE member Jihyo and 10cm.
On October 29, Thursday, an anonymous netizen shared a lengthy post to an online community forum claiming to be Chanyeol's girlfriend for three years. The post contains a letter to Chanyeol, as well as a series of photos as evidence of their relationship. However, netizens and fans have come to question the authenticity of the said photos and accused the netizen of manipulating the photos.
In her letter to Chanyeol, she accuses the male idol of cheating on her multiple times by having one night stands with various people while she was asleep. She accused him of sleeping with girl group members, YouTubers, flight attendants, and even people she knows.
She also mentioned that an EXO member once flirted with her as he did not know she was dating Chanyeol. She claims that at the time, he did not express his dissatisfaction and did not defend her, but cursed him out behind his back. The netizen claims she now realizes that Chanyeol did so because he was ashamed of his actions. She additionally claims Chanyeol does not like that member.
The netizen claims to have a voice recording of the two in a call, in which she confronts Chanyeol about cheating on her. She has not released the voice recording.

Since then, SM Entertainment has released a statement, claiming they have no official stance on the matter.

A supposed mutual friend of Chanyeol and the alleged ex-girlfriend has recently gone viral with Korean netizens, in which she calls Chanyeol out on Instagram for his bad behavior, his arrogance, and his lack of talent in music. She has allegedly deleted her Instagram account following malicious comments from international fans.
