WJSN Cheng Xiao Updates Fans with New Instagram Photos amidst Rumors of Her Departure

Cosmic Girls' Cheng Xiao has greeted fans with new Instagram pictures amid rumors that she has left the group.

Recently, Ujungs (fans of WJSN) were worried about the departure of the girl group's three Chinese members, namely Cheng Xiao, Xuanyi, and Meiqi, after finding evidence that they have departed for good. A particular fan posted a photo on Twitter, which shows that the three WJSN members have all cleared the "Cosmic Girls member" from their respective Weibo descriptions, and it was changed to "Yueha Entertainment Artist; Singer; Actress."

In addition to this, Cheng Xiao, Xuanyi, and Meiqi have not participated in Cosmic Girls' recent comebacks and are currently active in the Chinese entertainment industry. In particular, Cheng Xiao appears in numerous Chinese dramas and is about to make her big-screen debut in "Detective Chinatown 3."

While she's doing her solo promotions in China, fans are still holding out hope that she remains as a member of WJSN, also known as Cosmic Girls, after discovering that she still has the "WJSN" and her Korean name, Seong, written in her Instagram biography.

And recently, Cheng Xiao took to Instagram to greet fans with new photos. Although, the caption of her post - "Long time no see," which is written in Korean - fans were wondering what her real status is as a girl group member. The Instagram pictures show Cheng Xiao in different poses, flaunting her impressive visuals.

Considering that she posted a set of pictures amidst her departure rumors, fans couldn't help but flood comments under the idol's post. Some of the comments are stated below:

"It has been a long time since you posted on Instagram."

"I miss you so much!"

"Don't leave WJSN."

"Thank you for writing the caption in Korean."

"I miss OT13!"

"Ujung miss you so much!"

"We miss you unnie. Please don't leave WJSN."

"It has really been a long time."

"Come back to WJSN please."

"Ujung miss you so much. Please come back to WJSN again soon."

As of now, Cosmic Girls' management agency Yueha Entertainment is yet to respond to the rumors and release an official statement to clarify the status of the girl group's Chinese members.

The last WJSN comeback in which Cheng Xiao, Xuanyi, and Meiqi participated was with the group's fourth mini-album titled "Dreams Come True," which is back in February 2018. Since then, Cosmic Girls has launched five tracks without the three Chinese members. The female act's latest comeback was in June this year with its eight mini-album "Neverland," which features the title track "Butterfly."

While Xuanyi, Meiqi, and Cheng Xiao were inactive in the group promotions of WJSN in the past year, they were carrying out activities in China. Both Meiqi and Xuanyi participated in "Produce 101 China" in 2018, and they placed first and second in the final round, respectively. Hence, they debuted as members of the project group "Rocket Girls 101," who later disbanded in June this year. Moreover, the two idols also made their solo debuts in China: Meiqi in 2019 with "Jiang" and Xuanyi this year with "25."

Meanwhile, Cosmic Girls' Cheng Xiao released her very first solo song, "If Love," in 2018. It serves as the original soundtrack for the online game "Xuanyuan Sword." Then this year, she starred in her first Chinese drama "Detective Chinatown."
