As soon as netizens saw the tweet, they expressed their various sentiments about the incident. Many called out the alleged hacker to leave the former Goo Hara alone, as well as her account.

A few also pointed out how disrespectful it was to the late idol if it was actually used by a stranger, invading the privacy and taking away the place where fans could go back and reminisce the time with Hara before passing.

In particular, the late Goo Hara was found lifeless inside her home in southern Seoul on Nov. 24 last year. The entertainment industry was shocked by the sad news that followed about a month after Sulli's death, who was her close friend during their lifetime.

On the other hand, unlike on Twitter, Hara and Sulli's personal Instagram accounts were both converted to memorial accounts. Social media platforms include a feature where an account will be automatically deleted if not use for a long time.

However, using Instagram's 'Memorial Account' feature, no one can log in to that account. Posts shared by the deceased will remain the same, and no one will be allowed to change both existing posts and information. It is known to be a function that can be used by bereaved families when they apply.

This feature offers an option for an account to be memorialized to commemorate the life of the deceased and allows people visiting the accounts to find comfort.

After numerous trials, failures, and long battles that Hara's brother along with her fans had experienced, the "Goo Hara Act" has been finally approved to become law on Dec. 1.

The bill, hereinafter law, was proposed by the bereaved family particularly by Hara's brother due to conflict with their biological mother who demanded her daughter's 50% inheritance.

This earned the ire of netizens as the siblings were raised by their grandmother and aunts, and their biological mother abandoned them when they were still young. "Goo Hara Law" restricts any parent to inherit their late child's wealth if they failed to do their parental duties.

Prior to this revision, South Korea allows parents to have their children's inheritance, even if they do not serve their responsibilities as parents.

Prior to Hara's passing, the idol and actress suffered domestic abuse from her ex-beau, who was only given up to 1 year imprisonment. Due to this, fans and netizens were asking for justice for the late idol, and are currently circulating a petition through the Blue House Petition.
