On Monday, Jan. 11, JYP Entertainment finally confirmed that all of the GOT7 members will be leaving the company after days of speculation. The company released a statement saying that after discussions with each member, both the agency and the members agreed to not renew their contract with the agency. The statement also stated that JYP Entertainment will sincerely support the futures of each GOT7 member.

Prior to the statement release, an alleged JYP Entertainment staff shared a screenshot of them listening to GOT7's "The End." The screenshot is taken from the MelOn app and shows the lyrics of the song. In the screenshot, the lyrics included are "I will probably regret this moment," as well as the line "They say you will know how precious something is when you lose it." It is being speculated that the staff member is saying GOT7 made the wrong choice leaving JYP Entertainment and that they will regret it for the rest of their careers.

An unnamed user on an online community forum shared the screenshot of the Instagram Story online for more people to see. The original poster slammed JYP Entertainment and J.Y. Park, referencing a story in which the company founder mistreated GOT7 member Jackson. During his rookie days, he told Jackson that he could not gather more than 30 fans by himself. As Jackson had come from Hong Kong, without his parents, and had to endure the harsh training and treated J.Y. Park like a father-figure, people agreed that this probably scarred him deeply.

People slammed JYP Entertainment for their awful treatment of their artists. They recalled how the company had sent the Wonder Girls to America and blew all the company's away, and how artists like GOT7 and TWICE helped revive the company but he does not give them proper treatment. It has been stated that JYP Entertainment also tells their artists to read comments made by people online and to check the DC Galleries, which could be detrimental to their mental health.
