The waiting game is yet to be over as Super Junior announced on Monday that they decided to delay their imminent comeback. Kim Hee Chul, Lee Dong Hae, Choi Siwon, Leeteuk, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Kyuhyun, Lee Sungmin, Kim Ryeowook, Yesung, and Kangin vowed to return to the entertainment scene in March.

Label SJ Announced Sad News for ELFs, Super Junior's Fans

The South Korean boy group broke the news thru their official Twitter account. In the statement, the label apologized to the avid followers of Super Junior for the delay. It, however, announced that the group's 10th album will be released on March 16, which is a month later than the original launch date.

The label made it clear that the postponement was, actually, against their will, especially after Super Junior and all the crew worked so hard to deliver what is expected of them. Label SJ stated Super Junior members would use the time to prepare for the album launch.

Titled "The Renaissance," the album is said to have a total of 10 tracks, including "Raining Spell for Love," "Tell Me Baby," and "Burn The Floor." It was supposed to mark the group's 15th anniversary since they were launched in 2005.

Members of Super Junior have been posting about their upcoming album in the past few months. Donghae, in early January, even teased fans that the group had chosen a title track already.

Super Junior Drops First New Japanese Album in 8 Years

On Jan. 27, Super Junior released their new album called "Star," which includes an energetic dance beat. Japanese versions of "Black Suit," "Devil" and "Mamacita," aside from the songs released as solo and unit singles, are also part of the said LP.

While avid followers of the boys wait for the upcoming release of "The Renaissance," ELFs should watch out for the new gig of Super Junior member Kyuhyun. The "Black Suit" hitmaker has been cast as the lead star of the musical show called "Phantom."

The Super Junior singer will act as the main character who lives in an opera theater because of his ugly visual. The storyline would force Kyuhyun to showcase his acting prowess, exemplary singing skills and vocal techniques.

For starters, "The Phantom of the Opera" is based on the novel written by Gaston Leroux and was first performed on Broadway in 1991.

Meanwhile, Super Junior rose to fame after their first album called "Twins" gained worldwide attention in 2005. They, then, released another album in 2007 titled "Don't Don," "Sorry, Sorry" in 2009, "Bonamana" in 2010, "Mr. Simple" in 2011, "Sexy, Free & Single" in 2012, "Hero" in 2013, "Mamacita" in 2014, "Play" in 2017 and "Time_Slip" in 2019.

At the moment, Super Junior is composed of nine active members, namely: Kyunhyun, Shindong, Yesung, Heechul, Leeteuk, Ryeowook, Siwon, Donghae and Eunhyuk. Kim Kibum left the group in 2015 while Han Geng departed from the group in 2009.
