Earlier, K-Netz trended a hashtag calling out EXO Chanyeol, who was accused of cheating by a netizen who claimed to be his ex-girlfriend.

EXO Chanyeol, who was embroiled in a cheating controversy in 2020, trended on social media as more internet users asked for clarifications and an official statement from him regarding the issue.

In October last year, an online community user "A," who claimed to have dated the singer-actor for three years, posted a lengthy message and images as proof that the male idol is her ex-beau. "A" then claimed that Chanyeol had an inappropriate relationship with at least 10 women while they were still dating, including girl group members, YouTubers, BJs, and airline crews.

When the issue broke out, SM Entertainment released a short message, while the male idol remains silent to this day.

Whether it is true or not, four months have passed since the rumors erupted, some fans are still upset at singer for not clarifying his position on the controversy.

On Feb. 3, Thursday afternoon, the hashtags "#박찬열 침묵 그만" (Park Chanyeol no more silenced) and " #박찬열 나와서 얘기해" (Park Chanyeol Come Out and Talk) trended on real-time searches in South Korea in attempt to get the attention of the EXO member who has been inactive since the emergence of the news.

Internet users asked him to either release his statement or, ultimately, withdraw from the group. Angry netizens were also implying that his silence is making it worse, thinking that some will imply that the rumors are true.

Meanwhile, EXO-Ls, fandom of EXO, countered and cleared the searches by leaving positive comments for the "SSFW" singer, such as "I miss you so much, Chanyeol," "I will support you without change," and "Thank you for being born, Chanyeol."

And prior to the spread of malicious hashtags on the platform, fans have already taken the matter in their own hands and investigated "A's" proofs, and soon enough ruled out discrepancies and inaccuracies in the netizen's claims, eventually calling it all a hoax. They jumped into Chanyeol's defense, saying he doesn't need to clarify anything as it is a false accusation.

EXO Chanyeol Resumes Activities Following Alleged Cheating

EXO Chanyeol, who has been silent, resumed his activities in November, after releasing an OST track, "Minimal Warm," for the Webtoon, "She's My Type," followed by an appearance in "Law of the Jungle."

Further, posted on the official Instagram of Lotte Duty-Free are EXO members Baekhyun, Kai, Sehun, and Chanyeol as they were reported to appear for the introduction of the live broadcast of Lotte Duty-Free on Feb. 4 at 8:00 p.m. KST.
