BTS V, NCT Taeyong, and More: Nehan Reveals the Most Popular Male Idols in Japan
On Friday, Feb. 5, Japan's most popular K-pop idol website Nehan revealed the top 10 most popular male idols in the country. Keep on reading to learn who are the top male idols in Japan!
BTS V Takes the Throne
Sitting at number one is BTS member V. He is the only male idol to have surpassed over 4,000 votes, making him not only the most popular male idol but the most popular K-pop idol in Japan in general. Additionally, he was also ranked as the most popular Korean actor on the drama version of Nehan site, Bihan, despite only acting in one drama since 2017, "Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth."
It has been reported that the aforementioned drama, as well as "Itaewon Class," became popular in Japan due to V's association with them. V released the song "Sweet Night" as part of the drama's soundtrack back in 2020.

On top of that, V was named the most popular foreign artist for 12 consecutive months by Twipple Japan's celebrity monthly ranking. V is also the only overseas artist to enter Twipple Japan's top 10 celebrity ranking for Jan. 2021.
BTS Members Follow Behind V
Taking second and third place are both BTS members. Jungkook follows closely after V, taking second place. Previously, it was announced that Jungkook is the only artist in the world with more than 3 million likes on two tweets.
As of press time, Jungkook's blonde selfie tweet is the second most-liked tweet of 2021, with United States President Joe Biden taking the top spot and former President of the United States Barrack Obama taking the number three spot.

At third place, we have Jimin. Back on Dec. 24, 2020, Christmas Eve, Jimin released a song titled "Christmas Love," which tells the story of his childhood memories during the holidays. Most recently, Jimin was named as the male idol that is as cute as mochi in a poll conducted by Choeaedol. The BTS member was able to snag over 40% of the total votes, proving he is the original "Baby MochI."
