Attention MELODY! - BTOB's rapper Peniel will be launching a new digital single this month!

On Monday, Feb. 8, Cube Entertainment dropped a teaser image for a new song titled "Valentine" through the official SNS accounts of BTOB. The photo shows heartbeat lines and the tracks' release date, which is on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14. The new digital single will be a new release of BTOB Peniel.

It is said that the new song "Valentine" is a sweet confession of someone to a friend. This track was previously released through SoundCloud back on Feb. 14, 2019, and now it will be officially launched via different online music sites.

In addition, it was produced by BTOB Peniel's brother-in-law and producing partner KAIROS, and has romantic lyrics in English.

The language of the upcoming digital single was not mentioned, hence fans would have to anticipate its official release to find out.

"Valentine" will be the male idol's first solo release in more than one year.

BTOB Peniel's Previous Solo Songs

It has been a long time since BTOB Peniel launched a solo digital single as he has been busy with group promotions and hosting or appearing on various programs. The idol's very first solo song is titled "That Girl," which was dropped as part of BTOB's 2017 solo project, "Piece of BTOB," in June. Once again, this track was produced in collaboration with KAIROS. A choreography practice video was released for "That Girl."

His latest solo digital single is "Flip," which was released in August 2019. It features South Korean rapper Beenzino and is accompanied by a music video. Peniel, together with Beenzino and KAIROS, wrote the lyrics of the track, which is under the hip hop genre and talks about not taking into account what others think.

BTOB Peniel's Recent Music and Activities

When it comes to group works, Peniel's recent release is the mini-album "Inside" as a member of BTOB 4U, the second sub-unit of BTOB. Issued on Nov. 16, 2020, the album contains the title track "Show Your Love," which gives a hopeful message of living and showing love to each other even during hardships. BTOB Hyunsik wrote the lyrics of the song alongside his bandmates Peniel and Minhyuk.

BTOB 4U's "Show Your Love" was well-received all over the world, charting on major music sites in South Korea such as Bugs, Genie, and Melon, as well as on the Billboard K-pop Hot 100. It also debuted on Gaon Download Chart at No. 10 and on the Streaming Chart at No. 118.

Last month, BTOB 4U - which consists of the group's four active members: Seo Eunkwang, Lee Changsub, Lee Minhyuk, and Peniel - held their first online concert. While the event was a success, there was a little controversy about the members showing support for OT7 throughout the concert. And this involves Peniel and Changsub and BTOB's former member Ilhoon, who left the band in December 2020 due to his marijuana scandal.

Meanwhile, BTOB Peniel currently hosts DIVE Studios podcast "GET REAL" along with Ashley Choi (former Ladies' Code member) and KARD's BM.
